We have gone full steam ahead into digital dentistry, specifically the concept of crowns in one visit. It’s a technology called Cerec.

Let’s be honest – nobody likes going to the dentist. Fear of a procedure as well as the expense of that procedure definitely reinforces this behavior. But often the time involved to come to the office in order to complete the procedure is the most critical factor. Yet we all want healthy and beautiful smiles. So – are there ways to value people’s time and still deliver fantastic care? You bet!!

We have gone full steam ahead into digital dentistry, specifically the concept of crowns in one visit.  It’s a technology called Cerec.  Prior to this, you needed at least two appointments to get a quality crown that included a mouth full of gooey tasting material, and wearing a plastic temporary for a few weeks.  It was two visits if you were lucky enough to not have the temporary fall off and the permanent crown fit well enough.  These days are history.

We’re now able to scan your mouth with a high definition camera and create a custom beautiful crown right away.  The fit is exceptional, the bite is spot on and the look is far superior to metal based crowns.  We’ve been doing these for over a year and I can honestly say, that it is one of the best things to happen to dentistry.  I know what you’re thinking.  “Yeah doc, but how much more are you gonna charge me?”  Not one penny more.  In fact, our cost to our patients has even dropped because we rarely have to perform an additional costly procedure called a buildup.   With the old way, we would often have to essentially do a filling on the tooth prior to putting on the crown.  Cerec is so accurate that the humps and bumps of the tooth is filled in and bonded to create an even stronger tooth restoration.  So, what are you waiting for?  Time is running out.
