We have gone full steam ahead into digital dentistry, specifically the concept of crowns in one visit. It’s a technology called Cerec. Prior to this, you needed at least two appointments to get a quality crown that included a mouth full of gooey tasting material, and wearing a plastic temporary for a few weeks. The fit is exceptional, the bite is spot on and the look is far superior to metal based crowns. We’ve been doing these for over a year and I can honestly say, that it is one of the best things to happen to dentistry. I know what you’re thinking. “Yeah doc, but how much more are you gonna charge me?” Not one penny more. With the old way, we would often have to essentially do a filling on the tooth prior to putting on the crown.
